ROUND TABLE FOR THE EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE AND GOOD PRACTICES BETWEEN THE STATE ADMINISTRATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF GREECE

Between September 27th – 28th, 2018, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the CHRDRI jointly organize a Round table for the exchange of experience and good practices between the state administrations of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Greece in the field of living standard of the population and labour income. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the most appropriate forms of interaction and partnership with the representatives of the state administrations in Greece by summarizing good practices and experience in the sphere of the social economy.

The event is being launched in the city of Serres, Republic of Greece, where the Deputy Minister and Labour and Social Policy – PhD Sultanka Petrova, employees of Living Standard, Demography Policy and Social Investment Directorate of the MLSP and representatives of the Sandanski Municipality will meet the Vice Mayor of Social Policy of Municipality of Serres – Mr. Dimitris Meretoudis, representatives of the Regional Unit of Serres, as well as representatives of Serres Municipality.

During the second day of the event, the meeting will be conducted in the city of Sandanski. In addition to the representatives of the MLSP and the Municipality of Sandanski, officials from the Regional Social Assistance Directorate of Blagoevgrad, the Labor Office Directorate of Sandanski, the CHRDRI and others will participate.

The proposals, initiatives and recommendations, that will be shared during the two-day Round table, will be part of the MLSP's "Regional Demographic Strategy", which aims to achieve visible results in the near future (2020) to improve the unfavorable demographic trends of the country. Also, positive experience from the border and close municipalities will be taken into consideration for developing social economy and revitalizing and raising the living standards of the population in the border regions of the country.
